"Running"

Tap, Tap, Tap, goes my feet,
Running.
Boom, Boom, Boom, goes my heart in my ears,
Running.
I’m running all the time, yet I can’t seem to shift her.
She follows me everywhere I go.
Night is the only time I seem to loose her,
Yet I can still sense her presence.
Tap, Tap, Tap, goes my feet,
Running.
Boom, Boom, Boom, goes my heart in my ears,
Running.
Morning comes and I’m running again.
She’s following me; she’s a constant reminder of my past,
Of what I’m trying to leave behind.
Why won’t she stop, is it me? Am I the reason I’m running.
I know that when I look at her, I remember why I’m running.
To loose her,
But how do you loose your shadow?
You can’t.
That’s why I’ll be forever running.
Resting only at night, and my worst enemy for company.
